Menstrual cramps
affect about one third of all women. Its onset is usually at
the beginning of the menstrual flow when it is most severe.
It may last a few hours or up to 1-3 days. The pain is
spasmodic and cramping in nature. It typically occurs in the
lowr abdomen and may radiate into the groin thighs and lower
back. This cramping may be accompanied by malaise, nausea,
vomiting, chills, headaches and diarrhea.
